Can Foreigners Take English Driving Lessons in Seoul?
Yes. Foreign residents with a licence that is legally valid for driving in Korea can take refresher road-driving lessons. Anyang Driving School provides English-supported driving practice near Seoul for existing licence holders. Students can choose six or ten hours of training and practise using a standard vehicle, mid-size car or SUV.
Lessons can focus on the parts of Korean driving you find most difficult — vehicle controls, lane positioning and changes, intersections, parking, reversing, road signs, navigation, busy urban traffic and rebuilding confidence after a long break. SDA is located in Anyang, approximately five minutes on foot from Gwanak Station on Subway Line 1.

A list of the driving situations you want to practise
Foreign licence holders
A foreign licence is not automatically valid for driving in Korea. Before booking, SDA must confirm that your licence and supporting documents legally allow you to drive here. Depending on your status you may need a valid Korean licence, a valid foreign licence with a recognised International Driving Permit, your passport, and your ARC. Do not begin practical road training until SDA has confirmed your eligibility.
No valid licence? If you don't have a licence that's valid in Korea, you need a complete Korean licence program rather than refresher road training.

Yes. Refresher road-driving practice is for people who already hold a licence that is legally valid for driving in Korea. If you do not have a valid licence, choose the complete Korean licence program instead.
Can I use my foreign driving licence?
A foreign licence alone may not permit you to drive in Korea. SDA must check whether your Korean licence, foreign licence or International Driving Permit is valid for the requested training.
Can I take lessons after exchanging my foreign licence?
Yes. This is one of the main reasons foreign residents take refresher lessons — to adjust to Korean traffic rules, road markings, navigation and parking.
How much do English driving lessons cost?
Standard-vehicle training costs 366,000 KRW for six hours or 580,000 KRW for ten hours. Mid-size car or SUV training costs 384,000 KRW for six hours or 640,000 KRW for ten hours.
Should I choose six or ten hours?
Six hours may be sufficient if you recently drove and need to practise a limited number of skills. Ten hours is better if you have not driven for a long time or need repeated practice with several situations.
Can I practise parking?
Yes. Parking can be included as a primary training goal — reverse parking, parallel parking, underground parking or narrow-space practice.
Can I practise on an expressway?
Expressway or higher-speed-road practice may depend on your experience, licence status, route, weather and the academy's current policy. Ask before booking.
Can the instructor come to my home in Seoul?
Do not assume that home pickup or visiting lessons are included. The standard service is training arranged through the SDA campus unless the academy confirms another meeting point.
Can I use my own car?
The advertised prices are based on SDA vehicle categories. Ask separately whether training in a student-owned vehicle is available and insured.
Is there an examination after the refresher course?
No. Refresher practice is confidence and skills training for an existing licence holder. It does not issue, upgrade or change a driving licence.
Can I take lessons on weekends?
Practical driving sessions are generally available seven days a week between 09:00 and 20:00, subject to instructor and vehicle availability.
