How soon can you retake a failed Korean driving test?
The written theory test can be retaken from the day after you fail it. The skills course test and the road driving test both require a three-day wait from the day of the failure. There is no limit on the number of attempts, but three clocks do run against you: training must be completed within three months of your start date, the skills test within six months of finishing theory, and the road test while your learner's permit is valid for one year. Skills and road test attempts are 55,000 KRW each.

The skills test is scored strictly because it is conducted on a closed circuit where every element is measured. Three days after a failure you can sit it again, and at our academy the test runs Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 and Saturday at 14:00.
Almost nobody fails the skills test twice for the same reason if they take extra circuit time in between. It is a repetition problem, and repetition solves it.
The road test is conducted by the academy on designated examination routes, Monday to Saturday between 09:00 and 16:00. After a failure you wait three days.
Unlike the circuit, the road test has a variable that you cannot rehearse away: other traffic. Two candidates driving identically can score differently because one met a bus pulling out and the other did not. That is why extra on-road hours matter more here than extra theory.
Limits
How many times you can retake a Korean driving test
Attempts are effectively unlimited
There is no rule that bars you after a set number of failures. Each attempt costs a fee and a waiting period, nothing more.
But the clocks are not
Training must be completed within 3 months of your start date
The skills test must be passed within 6 months of finishing theory
The road test must be passed while your learner's permit is valid — 1 year
This is the real risk of repeated failures. Not being barred from trying, but running out of learner's permit and having to start the whole sequence again from the written test.

Why these exist
Each one represents something that would be dangerous on a public road with a passenger in the car. They are not score deductions because there is no score at which they would be acceptable.
The seatbelt one catches people every single week. Fasten it before you touch anything else.

Lane discipline
Drifting, late signalling, changing lanes without a proper mirror and shoulder check.
Speed control
Both directions. Driving too slowly out of caution loses marks as surely as speeding.
Stop line accuracy
Stopping past the line, or rolling through a stop that should have been complete.
Pedestrian handling
Not stopping for someone at a crossing is heavily penalised and can end the test.
Observation
Examiners watch your head and eyes. Checking a mirror without visibly moving earns nothing.
Hesitation at junctions
Waiting for a gap that is already there reads as a lack of control.
